The UK Active Travel Awards at Active County Cambridgeshire 2026
We're pleased to announce the launch of the
UK Active Travel Awards, presented by Landor LINKS, taking place as part of
Active County Cambridgeshire 2026 on 13-14 July.
The awards will recognise and celebrate the leading designers, engineers, policy makers, practitioners and change makers working to make active travel the obvious choice for everyday journeys across the UK.
Introduced as part of the UK's must-attend active travel conference, Active County Cambridgeshire 2026, the UK Active Travel Awards will shine a spotlight on excellence in project delivery, professional leadership, innovation and research, while laying the foundations for a standalone national awards event from 2027.
Award Categories
Best Walkable Neighbourhood Scheme
Celebrating excellence in planning and delivering walkable neighbourhoods that prioritise pedestrians, improve accessibility, enhance safety, and create attractive people-centred streets.
Best Active Travel Infrastructure Project
Celebrating excellence in the planning, design and delivery of physical active travel infrastructure, including walking, cycling and wheeling routes, junction redesigns, School Streets, Low Traffic Neighbourhoods and public realm schemes.
Best Behaviour Change or Engagement Initiative
Recognising initiatives that successfully encourage people to walk, cycle or wheel more, including behaviour change programmes, community initiatives, workplace or school schemes, and public engagement campaigns.
Best Active Travel Team
Recognising teams that demonstrate outstanding collaboration, leadership and delivery, including local authority teams, cross-sector partnerships, consultant-client teams and regional collaborations.
Active Travel Champion Award
(Judges' Choice)
A discretionary award recognising an exceptional contribution to active travel, such as a lifetime contribution, a breakthrough project or policy, or leadership that does not fit neatly into other categories.
